Considering the topicality of the accumulated problems and in response to the interests of the Turkish ship owners, the law firms ‘Interlegal’ (Ukraine) and ‘Remedy’ (Russia) decided to join together the efforts with their Turkish associated office Dogu Law Office and to discuss the typical problems and disputes during the carriages in the Black Sea and Mediterranean regions, especially, grain and oil transportation.
The annual meeting of the Turkish ship owners, charterers and brokers took place in Istanbul on 7th of December 2011. The seminar was supported by the Turkish Chamber of Shipping. More than 60 representatives of shipping and agency companies took part the seminar.
The partners of ‘Interlegal’, Arthur Nitsevych and Nikolay Melnykov, discussed in their presentation the major issues that concern most of the Turkish ship owners nowadays: the problems arising during grain and oil transportations.
As the summary of the seminar the organizers offered the participants to work together to prevent similar situations. After all, many problems can be avoided thanks to the timely analysis and necessary advice.
After the official part of the seminar the participants continued their communication in an informal atmosphere. Friendly opinion exchange is very important and useful. It leads to the mutual enrichment and allows maintaining the long-term beneficial partnerships between ship owners, insurers and lawyers. Now we have everything we need to avoid any wrong actions in the future and to find solutions for the most complicated problems. The only thing to do is to get advice or assistance from the colleagues and to see the situation in a different light. |
